"Well aren’t you touchy?" She went on in the same teasing tone. Marlene smirked at him, "Why then, do you make it so easy for me to mock you?"
Sirius chuckled and kept cleaning the pieces, “Because I always want you to have a great time Marley, you know that.”
Tonks Smiled proudly as her cousin picked her up. “I’m good! We read a book today and it was fun and I’m gonna be just like the girl in the book.” She siad brightly. “YAY! I wanna learn all that! I’ll let you play with my monkey! You’ll like him!”
"You read a book? in class or with mommy?" he asked curiously, Dora was a curious girl and she always had a new story and her imagination ran for miles, "Well then lest just start your training little pirate." he said and made a rope appear on a branch of the backyard tree. "Let’s see what you’ve got." Sirius put Dora on the floor again so she could climb up the rope.
"The… the chain… you… you almost what? Merlin, Padfoot, I don’t understand why you insist on driving that thing around. Yeah, it cool, but it’s dangerous, and times are difficult enough; you don’t need to be taking anymore unnecessary risks!”
"I haven’t been doing the maintenance so I’m doing it before it happens again, Moony," he said tiredly, "Because is a ‘muggle approved’ way of transport and I can leave flying if I need to." Sirius sighed, "I know how are things, Moony, I bloody know, okay? but I can’t live my life in constant fear because everything else is rubbish and this fucking thing takes my mind away from it."
Lily almost turns around, but hesitates and stays with her back turned to him. She can’t face him, not when she’s the reason his best friend’s comatose in a room down the hall. “Hey,” she responds softly.
"How are you feeling today? have they feed you anything decent?" he said moving closer to her. He understood the risk of the mission, he hated it, but he understood them. However that didn’t easy the emptiness he felt when he saw James on that bed not reacting to anything around him. He would’ve been stuck to his bed side but he remembered that he also had a sister and he needed to make sure she was okay; that’s what James would’ve wanted. "May I sit?" He said pointing the spot next to her on the bed.
"SIRIUSSS!" She shouted running up and hugging him. "No you gotsta come with us too cause you’d be the bestest pirate ever!"
"Hi, Dora," he laughed and picked her up smooching her cheek, "How is my favourite cousin?" he nodded, "Of course I’ll be the best pirate, I’ll teach you how to sword fight and climb ropes."
"Is this the famous bike you were telling me about the other day?" Ethan asked, approaching with a grin and looking the Muggle device over.
"It’s nice. You’re looking a little lost, though, if you don’t mind me saying."
"Yeah, Elvendork, isn’t she lovely?" he said with a green placing the piece in it’s place and cleaning the next.
"I don’t do this so often, I usually use magic."
"Hey, I never proclaimed myself to be an expert on all things magical motorcyles."
"Then stop mocking me McKinnon, or I’ll be force to teach you a thing or two." he said with a chuckled putting the part back in it’s place.
It was late — like, really late -- and there was far too much noise coming from outside. Remus warily opened the door and peaked out, eyes landing on Sirius and his bike. “Mate. It’s, like, three in the morning. What do you think you are doing?”
Sirius heard Remus voice and didn’t even flinch, after years of waiting for the deadly curse he had managed to always be alert even if it didn’t seem like it “Can’t sleep, and the chain got stuck, I almost crashed today.”
